In the 1850 Talladega, Talladega County, Alabama census she was listed as the 5th child age 4 and called Rutha. There were four brothers older than Ruth being James 17, Peter 15, George 8, and John 6, then Rutha 4 and another brother Samuel F 2 and finally a younger sister Mary 2. Samuel and Mary were twins.
In 1860 the family had moved to Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi and by now James and Peter had left the family and were out on their own. The children left at home were John 18, Ruth 16, Frank 14, Mary, 12 Saumel 12, and now Kate 10, and Laura 7, had joined the family.
For some reason by 1870 Frank A 23, Ruth V 25, and Laura B 15 are found living as boarders with the Thomas W Puller family instead of with their parents who are still living according to their death records but can't be found in the 1870 census. The Puller family lived in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. Frank and Ruth are both teachers and Laura B is a student.
On April 11, 1875 Jesse Yeates and Ruth Virginia Critz were married in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. This was his second marriage having been married to Margarett Robinson. She was the mother of his some of his children. Creola being one. In some censuses Annie is among the youngest Yeates children, making Ruth Virginia her mother, in others she is among the oldest making Margarett Robinson her mother????
By 1880 Ruth now 36, married to Jessie Yeates who is 49 and they are living with their family of 7 children in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. the oldest was Annie 25, Creola 22, Lizzie 18, Lorena 17, Gregory 15, Richard 7 and Ruth 5.
In 1887 Ruth lost her husband and in 1900 Ruth, now 60 is living in the household of her married daughter, Annie 20, and her new husband of less than a year Charles Edgar Ard 29.
By the 1910 Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi census Ruth had passed away just a few short days before the enumerator made it to Charles and Annie's home.
