Mr. Heath died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Norman.
Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Chickasha, under direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
He was born March 29, 1921, in Cement, to John Q. and Isabelle Marie Charleson Heath. He grew up in the Chickasha area and was a 1940 graduate of Fairview High School in Cement. He married Virginia Burkhart on Sept. 20, 1943, in Yuma, Ariz.
Mr. Heath had worked for civil service at Fort Sill from 1961 until his retirement in 1988. He had moved to Norman in 2007 to be near family. He was involved with Little League Football, Baseball and Basketball in the 1950s and 1960s and was a member of the Sheridan Road Kiwanis Club, a member of the Elk's Lodge, past president of the Southwest All Sports Association and a past member of the Lawton Baseball Association.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rick and Elizabeth Heath, Norman; and Ronald Heath, Oklahoma City; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Darlene and Richard Epstein, Bainbridge Island, Wash.; five grandchildren: Jennifer, Ian, Chavis, Destin and Shelby; three great-grandchildren: Anna, J.R. and Dallas; three brothers: Johnny Heath, of Hugo; George Heath, of Oklahoma City; and David Heath, of California; a sister, Anna Irwin, of Woodward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Marie and Cora Jo; and a brother, A.J.
