His mother was Maria Hinds Heath. She died sometime before the 1910 census was taken, probably in Texas. We have been unable to locate the exact date or place of her death. Her parents' memorials are #149505012 and #63381489.

Alex Tribune, Alex, Grady Co., OK, Friday, March 30, 1923: "Death Calls James Heath - James Heath died Monday afternoon at a hospital in Chickasha, where he had been under treatment for the past two months. He fell from the tower of the derrick, where he was working on the Hawk and Ware well, south of town Feb. 3, sustaining injuries which resulted in his death. For a time it looked like he was going to pull through, but he took the small pox which sapped his strength and pulled him down until it was impossible to recover and he gradually grew worse until death came as relief to his tired, worn body. During his stay in Alex he made a number of good friends and some of them visited him at the hospital every week, carrying flowers and rendering such service as they could to brighten his remaining days. He is survived by his father, one brother and one sister. The funeral services were conducted at the Anderson funeral home in Chickasha Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery."
