Marshall Osborne was born in 1795. DNA testing has proven that he descends from Richard Osborne b. 1612 in London, Middlesex, England and dying in 19 Dec 1684 in Westchester, Bronx, NY. On three different census record there are three different states given for birth state of Marshall Osborne, NC, Ky, NY. The 1870 NC census lists the birth state as NY thus giving some credibility to him being a descendant of Richard Osborn through his descendant Ezekiel Osborne found 1800 and 1810 census in NY with male children of age to be this Marshall Osborne.

Marshall is first documented by name on the 1840 VA census with wife and children. 1850 Census find the family in NC and that is where they remain. The towns of Jonesville, Mocksville and Farmington are in family records.

A Presidential Pardon given to Marshall Osborne by President Andrew Johnson and signed 2 Oct 1866 was the result of him being labeled as "Rebel Postmaster", a position he had accepted in 1861 to the office at Hamptonville, Yadkin Co., NC. He held this position up till August 1867 the request for pardon reads. It does state that till that time he was a "saddler".

Though no death record has been found for Marshall a document shows that he was not alive in 1876 so we know that he died between 1870 and 1876.

We just feel certain that he is buried in the area of Farmington, Davie Co., NC, as that was where he had been found for the 1780 census - moving there from Hamptonville sometime after 1867.

No head stone is found.
