MASON CITY - Funeral services for Herman N. Hansen, 84, a retired insurance salesman for State Farm Insurance Co., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City. He died Wednesday (Aug. 15, 1984) at a Mason City hospital.
The Rev. Murley A. Severtson will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City.
The family requests memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.
Mr. Hansen, of 4 3rd NW, was born May 27, 1900 in Cerro Gordo County to Henry and Christina (Christiansen) Hansen. He married Grace E. Gildner on March 10, 1923, in Mason City. He farmed for 17 years near Mason City before moving to Plymouth where he sold insurance for State Farm Insurance Co., for 32 years, retiring in 1974. In 1980 they moved to Mason City.
Mr. Hansen was a school official for 37 years, serving as a director or officer on the Cerro Gordo County Board of Education. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Life Underwriters Association and the Plymouth Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Grace E.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert W. (LaVonne) Willford, Mason City; Mrs. Adrian (Colleen) Stevens, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Vernon (Marlys) Trettin, Clear Lake; two sons. Dr. Gerald Hansen, Mason City, and Richard Hansen, Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
