MASON CITY Grace E. Hansen, 99, of 1037 19th St. S.W., died Monday (May 12, 2003) at the I.O.O.F. Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. James Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Major Erick son Funeral, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Grace E. Hansen Memorial Fund.
Grace was born June 20, 1903, on a farm near Nora Springs, the daughter of Nels and Agnes (Hofler) Gildner. She attended schools in Rock Falls.
Grace married Herman N. Hansen on March 10, 1923, in Mason City. The Hansens lived in Plymouth for many years, moving to Mason City in 1980.
Grace was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, past president of Band Mothers Plymouth and a wonderful pianist.
She is survived by three daughters, LaVonne Willford of Mason City, Colleen Stevens of Denver, Colo., and Marlys Trettin of Clear Lake; two sons, Dr. Gerald Hansen and his wife, Laquetta, of Mason City, and Richard Hansen and wife, Veryl, of Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman in 1984, and a daughter.
