Taylor W. Brashear, age 82 of Hamilton went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 1:33 PM. He was born in Viper, Kentucky on July 16, 1928 the son of Marion H. and Lillie B. (Watts) Brashear. Taylor was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. and was employed as a supervisor at General Motors for over 34 years, retiring in 1986. During his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, quilting, working for Habitat for Humanity, and fellowship with family and friends. Taylor was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and as a devout servant of God, served in many areas of the church. He was a most caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. On May 19, 1950 in Jeff, Kentucky he married Ethel Profitt.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Brashear of Hamilton; a son, Alan Christopher (Cynthia K. "Cindy") Brashear of Trenton; two daughters, Carolyn Elaine Brashear of Anderson, South Carolina and Marla J. (Bill) Brown of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Sarah Lynn Brown, Matthew Taylor Brashear, Jason William Brown, and Alyson Michelle Brashear; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Ebbing and Lillian Ebbing; four brothers, Eli (Naomi) Brashear of Newport News, Virginia, Elmer Brashear of Winchester, Kentucky, Adrian (Thelma) Brashear of Lothair, Kentucky, and Mark (Iris) Brashear of Trenton; and a sister, Elizabeth Evans of Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Velora Profitt and Claudine Ferguson; and four brothers, William, Corbett, Ernest, and Harrison Brashear.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Robert Ingram of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Memorial Fund at Grace United Methodist Church, 1200 Main Street, Hamilton, 45013.
