Eli B Brashear, 98, a former teacher, sheet metal worker, carpenter, preacher, and a life-long gardener, has gone to rest from his labors.

Born in Viper, KY on October 8, 1917, he and his wife, Naomi, spent most of their 77 years together living, loving, and sharing the home they built together. Eli not only built and helped build church buildings, he also helped to build preachers with regular donations for their education at the Memphis School of Preaching in TN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carole Brashear Dickinson.

In addition to his wife, Naomi, he is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jett (Morris); son-in-law, Terry Lynn Dickinson; grandchildren, Glenn Jett, Dana Headden, Michael Jett (Kim), Christopher Dickinson, and Heather Woodson (Randy); six great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Mike Brandt. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
