L L (Loke) Harmon Dies of Heart Attack
Services were conducted Friday, Nov. 1 at 2 pm, for L L (Loke) Harmon, 52, a merchant, who died in the courtroom at the Okolona courthouse Thursday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 while waiting to be called as a witness in a trial.
Circuit Judge Taylor H McElroy immediately dismissed court for that day.
Death was attributed to a heart attack. He died instantly.
The Rev. Flenoy Clark officiated at services held at the Macedonia Methodist Church. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery with Norman Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Harmon was born in Chickasaw County. He was the son of Will Harmon and Alma Gann Harmon.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruby Harmon of Gibson, Miss.; a son, Lynn Harmon of Houston; a daughters, Mrs. Margaret Jenkins of Fernwood, Miss.; a brother, Jack Harmon of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Esterline Lathan of Eupora, and Mrs. Clayton Criddle and Mrs. Worth Huffman, both of Houston. Five grandchildren also survive.
Active pallbearers were: W R Griffin, James D Griffin, William R Gann, Johnny Gann, Arnold Simpson and Mack Huffman.
