Wedding of Lyle Evans and Ida Pearl Gordon

Double Wedding.- Miss Pearl Gordon and Mr. Lyle Evans, and Miss Floyd Green and Mr. Lark Howard were married at the Christian Church in Greenfield last evening at 8 o'clock. Rev. McCallon officiating. Lyle and his bride are already at on the Evans farm north of town, where he is assisting his father. Many friends extend congratulations to these most worthy young people.

Mrs. L. O. Evans of Winterset Passes
Funeral Rites Held From Church of Christ With Burial at Greenfield

Mrs. L.O. Evans, a well known Winterset woman died at the Winterset hospital last Saturday after a long period of failing health. Her fatal illness was of about a week's duration. She was 49 years of age.

Mrs. Evans was the former Ida Pearl Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln H. Gordon of Greenfield and spent her early life there, graduating from the Greenfield high school.
On June 24, 1908, she was married to Lyle O. Evans of Fontanelle. For a number of years they lived near Fontanelle, later moving to Winterset.

Mrs. Evans was affilliated with the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband; five sons, Gordon, Ivan, Paul, Ralph and Dean; a grandson, Jackie Evans; two sisters, Mrs. L.B. Carter of Lehigh and Mrs. L.G. Potter of Sigourney; and three brothers, Leo L. Gordon of Peers, Alberta, Canada, J. Wayne Gordon of Linden, and W.D. Gordon of Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Winterset Church of Christ, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in Greenfield.
