Anna was the daughter of German immigrants named Henry George Fiedler and Mary Etta Sievers. Her step-mother was Philippine Fiedler.

Anna married William P. Cockrell on Christmas Eve 1885 in Calhoun County, Illinois. They were the parents of 9 children, although 2 did not survive infancy.

Anna died 10 days after her 78th birthday. She was buried next to her husband, William, on 18 Mar 1942. He passed away in 1919.
