Mariah Jane Youngblood's census records indicate she was born in South Carolina. A Youngblood researcher has shared with me that she was possibly the granddaughter of Mary "Polly" Bradley and James Youngblood, whose will was probated Mar 1792 in Edgefield Co., SC. Their son, Jeremiah Youngblood served in the War of 1812 in Mississippi Territory (present-day Alabama) and saw action at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend with Mariah's 2nd husband, Jacob Walls's father, Daniel Walls, who lost his life between March and May in 1814 and is buried in Fort Williams Military Memorial Park, Fayetteville, Talledega Co., AL.

Family records have Jeremiah Youngblood was injured in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend and was able to return home to Madison Co., AL where he passed away 6 Dec 1814.

Mariah Jane married 1st ca. 1836 in SC Charles Wesley Fridell who died between 1860 and 1870 DeKalb or Marshall Co., AL. In 1840 they were in Henderson Co., NC. There were two males, ages 0-5 in their household. One was Peter Alexander, and the other must have died before the 1850 Union Co., GA census. By 1860 Peter was married and his parents and siblings were in DeKalb Co., AL, the probable death place of Charles.

Mariah Jane married 2nd Jacob Walls 10 Nov 1872 Marshall Co., AL.

Children of Charles Wesley Fridell and Mariah Jane Youngblood:

Isaac Wesley Fridell, born 17 Dec 1845 (probably) Union Co., GA, died 12 Sep 1937 and is buried in Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN - FAG #2980633. Isaac's son, Thomas Sherman Fridell was born 14 Dec 1879 in Guntersville, Marshall Co., AL. HE WAS NOT William Sherman "Billie" Dale, Sr., born 14 Dec 1888 in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN or Jackson, Madison Co., TN and died 29 Nov 1960 in Elgin, Bastrop Co., TX - FAG #100903737 .
