Son of Jesse G. Willcox
Archie R. Wilcox died in this city of spinal meningitis Saturday morning at 12:10 o'clock. He had been sick but five days and from the very beginning of his illness there was little hope of his recovery. He seemed to give up all hope and yielded suddenly to death's fatal call. Arch was one of the leading members of the Woodmen of the World and carried a life insurance policy of $1,000. He was unmarried and the policy is payable to his aged father. He had carried the policy only about six months and had accordingly paid but little for the great beneficiary his father will receive.

The W.O.W. conducted the funeral services from the home of J. W. Goodwin, where he died and laid the remains to rest in Lexington cemetery. The day was stormy, but a large attendance of friends witnessed the solemn interment. On Sunday week he pitched the sod upon the coffin lid of another, was hearty and strong, and the following Sunday cold death was lain over him.

Archie R. Wilcox was born in East Tennessee in 1870, and was reared in Searcy county, AR. He was a harness maker by trade and was in the employ of John Horttor. He was sturdy, honest, and intelligent young man. His future was bright and promising. The leader joins with the lodge in expressing the deepest sympathy to the bereaved parents and other relatives. Cleveland County leader, April 1, 1899.
