On Friday afternoon, April 8th the sad news was received of the death of our former townsman Andrew J Willcox, who was 35 years of age.
At the time of his death he was living with his brother near Elba and had only been sick nine days.
Mr. Willcox was stricken with yellow jaundice and pneumonia.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J C Willcox of Marshall and leaves a large number of sorrowing relatives and a host of friends to mourn his demise, having been well known in Searcy and Van Buren counties. He was a member of the W. O. W., of this place, and also the Woodmen Circle and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge at Debie. Marshall Cemetery.
For a number of years Mr. Willcox had been engaged the greater part of his time in teaching public schools in this and Van Buren counties.
