Hypolite Ferrand was born in Paris, France and came to the U.S. along with his parents Jean Baptiste and Marie Catherine . Late a brother , Alfred was born. The Ferrands settled in the Corey area and built large plantations there . Synope Plantation still stands today. The Ferrands played and still are , an important role in the history of Caldwell Parish. Many offsprings of this Family reside in this area.
