Wilburn Alford

Wilburn Alford, 76 years of age, died Tuesday, October 13 at the Tyler Holmes Hospital. Mr. Alford was a retired Highway Department employee.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alva Bell Stewart Alford of Vaiden; four daughters, Mrs. Nell Fielder of Winona, Mary Lynn Welch of Vaiden, Mrs. Ollie Welch of Greenville, and Mrs. Lillian Hunsinger of Oxford; three sons, James Alford and Jerry Alford, both of Vaiden, Walter Alford of Kilmichael; two sisters, Mrs. L. L. Roby of New Concord, Ky., and Mrs. J. H. Phelpt of Mathiston; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Lee Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, October 14 at 3:00 P.M. with the Reverend Leslie Nabors and Reverend Noel Henson officiating. Burial was in Vaiden Cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were John Stanton, Tommy Caldwell, Clinton Tompkins, Warren Burrell, Bill Lowery and Vernon Welch.
