Della D. Snyder, 86, a resident of Convoy, Ohio, and a former resident of Portland, died early today in the Convoy Care Center where she had lived for the past eight years.
She moved from Portland in 1940 when she and her husband purchased a grocery store in Wren, Ohio. They operated the D.D. Snyder Grocery there for more than 30 years. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Portland E.U.B. Church, now the Trinity United Methodist church.
Born June 23, 1905, in Jay County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Harriet (Shaneyfelt) Trueblood. She was married Feb. 23, 1922, to Dwight D. Snyder who died in May 1965.
Surviving are two sons, Leon D. Snyder, Decatur, and Gerald L. Snyder, rural Ohio City, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Kris McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery.
