Lewis Reed, 75, of Paddock Drive, widow of Esther Wadkins Reed, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his residence. Born in Bath County, he was the son of the late John "Doc" and Barbara Watkins Reed. He was a farmer, and worked for the City of Versailles. Survivors include six daughters, Tilda James, Fern Williams, Denise Garcia, and Malena Jones all of Versailles, Deborah Murphy, Owensboro, and Barbara Sparks of Stamping Ground; four sons, Raymond Reed, John Reed, Lewis Reed, and Jesse Reed all of Versailles; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Medie Lou Abney, Winchester, a half-sister, Claudia Helton, Florida; and a half-brother, Junior Caudill, Stanton. Two brothers, J.B. Reed and Cecil Reed; and a grandson, Ryan Reed, are deceased. Services were conducted Tuesday, April 5, at the Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Studler. Interment was in the Versailles Cemetery. Casket bearers were Lewis W. Reed, Raymond Reed, Jesse Reed, Michael James, Jeffrey Yeager, and Joshua Beasley. Honorary bearers were the rest of the grandsons
