Alpheus Ray Lindsay passed away November 2, 2008 in Orem, Utah and has returned home to his Heavenly Father.

Ray was born March 27, 1927 in Salina, Utah to Alpheus Higgins Lindsay and Leah Orvetta Torgerson Lindsay.

Ray married the love of his life Melva Ellett Giles, January 2, 1946, for all time and eternity in the Manti, Utah Temple.

Together they raised four children, Leah Lorraine Lindsay Long, Jeneen Lindsay (Ivan) Hallingar, Steven Ray (Maurine) Lindsay and Gregory Giles (Peggy) Lindsay.

He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ray retired from Geneva Steel Company after working there for 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with friends and family.

Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife Melva, his daughter Lorraine, his parents Alpheus and Leah, and also by one brother, Ross Lindsay.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview 7th Ward Chapel, 1120 North 850 West, Provo.

Friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel.

Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery.
