ANNA A. (LIECHTY)(MYERS) ROOP, 88, of Berne, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at Swiss Village, Berne. Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Adams County, she was a homemaker and worked for C.T.S., Berne. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Berne. "Mother was a quiet and loving prayer warrior for her family and friends." Surviving are daughter, Hope (Clarence) Hudson of Gaston; sons, Tom (Marge) Myers of New Haven and True (Barbara) Myers of Monroe; grandchildren, Mark (Pam) Neal Sevierville, Tenn., Tom (Jill) Neal of Linn Grove, Jim (Lisa) Neal Geneva, Darlene (Roy) Zeitvogel of Decatur, Charlene (Michael) Johnson of Fort Wayne, Petula Myers of Tulsa, Bosnia and David (Julie) Myers of Wilmore, Ky.; five step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Berneta Lehman of Berne; and brothers, Loren (Joan) Liechty and Robert (Peggy) Liechty, both of Berne. She was preceded in death by husbands, Melvin Myers, in 1968 and Kenneth Roop, in 1987; sisters, Corena and Colleen; brothers, Melvin, Jim, Gordon and Sammy; parents, Robert and Emma (Sprunger) Liechety; and one step-grandchild, Leroy Hudson. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church, 566 W. Main St., Berne, with visitation from 12:30 until time of service. Pastor Craig Maven and the Rev. Robert Liechty officiating. Visitation also from 9 to 11 a.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne. Burial in M.R.E. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Women in Mission at First Mennonite Church.
