Funeral services for E. T. Strickland, 62, well-known retired businessman, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. A. B. Elizer and the Rev. Solon C. Couch officiating. Burial was in Fain Cemetery with Masonic rites. Mr. Strickland died at his home in Calhoun Friday at noon, after an illness of several months. The son of the late John and Lola Borders Strickland, he had spent most of his life in and near Calhoun. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and was a Mason. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Jewel Fite; two sons, Max Strickland of Calhoun and Eddie Strickland of Augusta; two grandchildren, of Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. C. H. Harmon of Calhoun and Mrs. E. N. Barton of Rydal; one sister-in-law Mrs. Frank Strickland of Calhoun. Pallbearers were Lawrence and Troy Barton, Billy Pass, C. H. Whitfield, Henry Mauldin and Gene Moss. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Methodist Church and members of Othcaloga Lodge No. 154.
