Henry Holter Curtin, better known as "Harry" Curtin passed away at his home at Curtin at 5:00 on Tuesday afternoon, after an illness with a complication of diseases. Mr. Curtin had been in failing health for some time but his condition did not become serious until shortly before his death. He was a native of Curtin, having been born there on October 2, 1887, making his age at time of death 48 years, 4 months and 23 days. He was a son of James and Jennie Holter Curtin. On April 6, 1918, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Ardell who survives with one son, Harry H. Curtin, Jr., at home, and two brothers, J. L. Curtin of Philipsburg, and Frederick Curtin, of Atlanta Georgia. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. R. L. Morris of Howard. Interment will be made in the Curtin cemetery. Mr. Curtin was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Masonic fraternity, the Williamsport Consistory and for 26 years was employed as a telegraph operator at Curtin. He was elected twice as Justice of the Peace in Boggs Township and after completing his second term was reappointed to that office by former Governor Pinchot, serving for a year under the appointment. He served several terms as tax collector of Boggs Township, his last term expiring in 1934. Democratic Watchman, February 26, 1936.
