Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home for John Ray Loftis, 44, of Route 1, Baxter, with David Dyer officiating. Burial will be in the Double Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Loftis, a resident of Double Springs community, was dead on arrival at the Cookeville General Hospital yesterday morning.
He was the son of Otis and Avo Jernigan Loftis, a native of Putnam County, a naval veteran of WWII and an employee of Cookeville Industries.
He is survived by his widow Joan Pendergrass Loftis; four sons, Michael, Steven, Mark and Alan Loftis; a daughter, Judy, all of Baxter, Route 1; a brother, Jack Loftis, of East Detroit, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Denny of East Detroit, MI, and Mrs. Burton Wallace of Irving, TX.
