Obituary: Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, April 1949
Funeral services for Francis X. Fisher, 78, of 704 Ferry St., who died Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Hospital, will be held Saturday morning.
At 9:15 short services will be held at the Golden funeral home followed by a solemn requiem [Mass] at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30. Celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. John J. Paul, the Rev. Frank C. Brickl, deacon, and the Rev. Richard Rossiter, sub-deacon.
Interment will be at Sacred Heart cemetery.
Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening, at the Golden funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 Friday night.
Mr. Fisher was born in 1871, in Stevens Point and came to Eau Claire with his parents as a boy of seven. He had been a resident of Eau Claire for 71 years, during which time he had been a member of St. Patrick's parish. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ambrose Smith of LaCrosse; Mrs. Thomas McInnis, Mrs. Mathias Nunke, both of Eau Claire; Mrs. Clarence Jaster of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Arnold Bauch, of Eau Claire, five sons, Edward T., Frank J. Jr., William, John and Arthur, all of Eau Claire, 31 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
His wife, who was Mary Candell, preceded him in death 15 years ago.
