Minnie Jenkins McClellan of Lexington, 89, died on Monday, May 30, 2005 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Thursday June 2 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Rev. Gus Merritt and Rev. Blain McLain were the officiating ministers. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. McClellan was born on December 26, 1915 in Attala County, the daughter of John S. Jenkins and Allie J. Edwards Jenkins.
She was a retired Deputy Circuit Clerk of Holmes County, and a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy McClellan of Yazoo City, and Sam McClellan of Lexington; a daughter, Melanie Baswell of Lexington; one sister, Mary Weir of Grenada; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Luke Carnathan, David McClellan, Justin McClellan, Jonathan McClellan, David McBride, and Trey McClellan. Honorary pallbearers were: Mike Lammons, Charles Lee Truitt, Charles Ellison, George Clifford, and Dr. John Downer.
