SANDY RIDGE - Mrs. Dora Clifton Hawkins, 82,died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at her home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hawkins was born in Patrick County, Va. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and she was retired from Gen Dandy, Inc. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nellie Clifton and Elma Hazelwood.
Survivors include her husband, Jonah C. Hawkins of the home; her son, Paul F. Hawkins of Summerfield; her daughter, Mary Lee Hawkins Handy of Sandy Ridge; her sisters, Minnie Mitchell of Summerfield; Reva Key of Gibsonville; Bertha Blackard; Lucy Nowlin and Cora Hazelwood of Stuart, Va., and Clarice Dempsey of Martinsville; her brother, Thomas Clifton of Oceana, W.Va.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at Colonial Funeral Home of Madison and other times at the residence.
