MURRAY - Our beloved father, grandfather, and dear friend, Ernest Emery Caldwell, age 82, passed away January 27, 1986.

Born December 19, 1903 in Murray, Utah to John William and Mary Jane Osborne Caldwell. Married Dorothy I. Reeves on November 29, 1924. She passed away October 29, 1982.

He was a former Salt Lake County Sheriff for 32 years. Former Murray City Policeman. He helped organize and was a member of the Volunteers of the Salt Lake County Fire Department. Avid sportsman and outdoors man. Member of Wasatch Gem Society. He was an exceptionally fine man, always an inspiration to his entire family.

Survivors; Daughters, Mrs. David V. (Maxine) Houser, Mrs. Robert F. (Jean) Romney, both Murray; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grand-children; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Art Caldwell, Murray; preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, Robert, Patrick, Vern and Olive Mounteer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 12:00 noon at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Wednesday 6-9 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment; Murray City Cemetery.
