Anita Harvey Coates, our loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away February 20, 1991, in West Valley City at the age of 86.
The daughter of Nancy Anderson and James Douglas Harvey, born on July 4, 1904, in Diaz, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Married to Lee Z. Coates on June 11, 1930, in Salt Lake City.
He passed away on October 7, 1987.
She lived in Blanding and Provo, and in American Fork for 45 years, and in West Valley City.
She was a resident of Hazen Nursing Home for the last two years.
Her family appreciates the kindness and loving care they gave her. Educated in Blanding schools.
Active member of the LDS Church.
Served many years as a visiting teacher and taught many children through the Primary program.
She led an active and productive life until her last three years.
Her deep concern for others was shown in her willingness to help others.
Gardening and quilting were just two of her talents.
She participated in the American Fork Senior Citizen group and was a member of their band.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons, Thoral and Carol Rasmussen, West Valley; Jerry and Janice Coates, Highland; William and Ruth Roggman, West Valley; Orvil and Linda McKenzie, Fort Collins, Colorado; and David Coates, Brigham City; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; her sister, Britta Harvey Bradford, Blanding.
Preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. David (Lee Anne) Daines; a son, Lyle; and an infant son.
Funeral Services to be held Saturday February 23, 1991, at 12 noon, in the American Fork 5th Ward Chapel, 380 South 300 East.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
Burial, American Fork Cemetery. Anderson & Sons Mortuary, Funeral Directors.
