From Vernal Express (Vernal, UT) - Wednesday, June 23, 1948:
Bruce Edgar Harvey, 43, Tridell rancher, died instantly Sunday at approximately 6 p.m. when a saddle cinch broke and he was thrown from his horse in a pasture of the family ranch. He was found by his mother in the pasture beside the saddle where he had been thrown. The horse was nearby. He was apparently killed instantly because he had not moved from where he hit the ground. Death was caused by a broken neck.
Mr. Harvey was born February 28, 1905 at Diaz, Chihuahua, Mexico, a son of James D. and Sarah Kellet Harvey. After the death of his father at the hands of Mexican bandits, the family returned to Utah. He had been a resident of Tridell for 30 years.
Surviving besides his mother are three brothers, William, James, and John Harvey, Tridell; four sisters, Mrs. Eliza Bieler and Mrs. Thora McConkie, Tridell; Mrs. Maude Boyes, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Sarah Hardy, St. George; nine half-brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Tridell LDS Chapel.
