Howard Lindsey was born in Mason County, Virginia June 14, 1820 and died at Knoxville March 22, 1890. When a young man, he came to this state and settled in Persifer township, Knox County. In 1844 he married Miss Mary A. O. Caldwell who departed life only a few weeks before her husband. Since her death he has lived with his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Charles where he died.
