Mrs. Mary A. O. Lindsey was born June 12, 1822 in Lycoming County, PA and died at her home in Knoxville January 24, 1890. Along with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Caldwell, she came to this state in 1839 and settled in Persifer township in Knox County where she resided until the year 1881 when, with her husband, she came to Knoxville to spend the last years of life. In December 1844 she married Howard Lindsey who survives along with two living children, two removed by death in childhood. When the Caldwell family came to Illinois in 1839 there was the father, mother and eight children. But today, only two members of that household live.
