Fannie was the daughter of William M. Chappell and Mary Ann Norred. Her brother, Rev. Andrew Jackson Chappell was the minister for her first marriage to E.A. Scoggins on July 4, 1901 at Talladega County, Alabama. After his death, she went to live with her sister, Medina Brooks and is on the 1910 Census in Tallapoosa County, AL: Fannie Scoggins, widow. She next married Frank Pierson Ray and had a daughter by him named Anna Belle Ray born 1914. Frank Ray died in 1968 so he and Fannie must have divorced. Fannie next married Benjamin Archiball Mason, Jr. by 1919 and moved to Elmore County, Alabama where he lived.

Note: Ben and Fannie's grandson, Howard Mason is buried next to them. He was the son of Benjamin, III and died in Montgomery.
