Mrs. Hattie C. Hill, wife of John T. Hill, passed away at 7pm on Monday at her home, in Eldred, aged 57 years.
She was born in Germany and was the daughter of Bernard and Hilda Classen. In childhood, she came to the United States and had been married first to William Eldridge and second to Mr. Hill.
Surviving relatives are her husband, at home; three sons, William Eldridge of Eldred; Benjamin Eldridge of Monticello, and Charles Eldridge of the U.S. Army in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Hilda Hill of Eldred, Mrs. Louis Nober of Lake Huntington, Mrs. Iva Foster of Port Jervis, and Esther Hill of Eldred; three stepsons, Alvin, Edward, and Alfred of Eldred; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Lena MacIntyre of Eldred, Mrs. Agnes Ernst and Mrs. Gladys Myers of Port Jervis, and Mrs. Edna Hallock of Boonton, NJ; and one sister, Mrs. Selma Dunlap of Eldred.
The funeral will be held at 2pm on Thursday at the house. Interment will be in Eldred Cemetery.
