COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Ova Herren Allison, 89, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., Aug. 11, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Tues., Aug. 10, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allison died on Sun., Aug. 8, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 20, 1910, in Silver Point to the late Harrison and Melanie Anderson Herren. Mrs. Allison was a homemaker and a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.
Her family includes a daughter, Jo Childs of Hermitage; four sisters, Avo Burgess and Rose Anderson, both of Cookeville, Jewel Olive of Eufalia, Ala., and Mildred Gentry of Winter Haven, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Ned and Claude Herren of Columbus, Ga., and a granddaughter, Melanie Byers of Hermitage.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harley Allison; a sister, Nola King; and three brothers, Solon, Clarence and Douglas Herren.
Bro. Glen McDoniel will officiate at the services.
