Bill was born on February 25, 1939 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to George William and Lavon Love (Hodge) Bennett and died on Saturday, July 26, 1997 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 5 months, and 2 days.
Bill was raised in the Alfalfa, Oklahoma area and attended schools at Cowden, Port and Colony. Bill graduated from Alfalfa High School in 1957 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1961 with a degree in mathematics and physics. On June 2, 1963 he married Linda Davidson in Eakly, Oklahoma. They made their home in Lawton until 1980, and then moved to Eakly. Bill continued working in Lawton. In 1995 he retired after 28 years of the Civil Service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma but continued working for Tec-Masters Incorporated as a Research Consultant.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda Bennett of Eakly, Oklahoma; his parents, George and Lavon Bennett of Alfalfa, Oklahoma; two sons, William David Bennett of Alfalfa, Oklahoma and Darin Bennett of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Kenneth Bennett and his wife, Zelta of El Reno, Oklahoma and two grandchildren, William Cheyenne and Payton Hayes Bennett.
