While attending SWOSU he met the love of his life, Zelta (Meek) Bennett. They were married on October 8, 1960, in Weatherford, OK, at the Church of Christ. They were married 63 wonderful years. He was a member of the Yukon Church of Christ. Kenneth was a member and officer of the El Reno Sportsmen's Club for many years. He loved the El Reno Kid's Fishing Derby, because he loved sharing his love of fishing with the children of El Reno.
Kenneth and Zelta started their married life in Borger, TX, where Kenneth worked for Phillips Petroleum Company. In 1962, they returned to Oklahoma where he worked as a manager of manufacturing and quality control for a series of companies, including GE, Honeywell, Control Data, and Seagate. He managed over 600 employees. His employment allowed him to travel to the Far East many times. He retired from Seagate in 2000. His retirement allowed him to farm and ranch around El Reno. Ken and Zelta loved to travel to Hawaii and Colorado.
Kenneth enjoyed fishing, which he began doing as a young child with his grandpa on the creeks of Washita County, and he continued his entire life. He also had a passion for quail hunting and loved watching his bird dog's work. At the age of 65 he went on his first turkey hunt and was hooked for the rest of his life. Ken and Zelta enjoyed watching all OU sports together. In retirement, he was a well-known fixture on the sidelines and in the stands of his grandsons' ballgames.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mom and dad, George and Lavon Bennett, his brother William (Bill) Bennett, and by his beloved daughter, Cynthia Bennett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Zelta Bennett, of the home, two sons, Kevin Bennett and wife Crystal of Oklahoma City, Gregg Bennett and wife Bessie of Oklahoma City, and many grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
