Charles served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War in the Engineer Combat Battalion. Charles retired from the U.S. Postal Service on December 29, 1989.
Charles and Velma (Jarrett) married on December 10, 1955 and were blessed with four children.
He is survived by his wife Velma of the home; Chuck (Pam) McAninch, Teresa (Mike) Henderson, Brenda (Roger) Claypool and Cerena McAninch, all of Kansas City. Charles children blessed him with 7 grandchildren. Eugenia McAninch, James (Mellissa) McAninch, Erin (John) Walker, Ben (Jamie) McAninch, Kasey Hailey, Heith (Emelia) Hailey, and Colby Hailey. In recent years Charles 5 great-grandchildren gave him many hours of joy, Caden McAninch, Hannah Hailey, Taylor Hailey, Regan Walker and Dylan Hailey.
