Mrs. Tressie Athon Lashley, 87 of Route 1 Oglethorpe, Ga. died Sunday, March 3, 1991 in the Houston Medical Center. Funeral services were held Tues., March 5, in Red Hill Hill Prim. Baptist Church, Oglethorpe, Ga. Elders, Jones and Gordon officiated. Burial was in OGLETHORPE CEMETERY. Mrs. Lashley, the daughter of C. D. Athon and Estella Justice Athon, was born September 16, 1903 in Macon Co., Ga. were she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker, member of Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church and the wife of the late, W. E. Lashley. Survivors are two sons, Kelma Lashley of Butler, Ga., Louis Lashley of Gray, Ga., two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Card of Warner Robins, Ga., Mrs. Lucius Eubanks of Albertville, Ala; three sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Ellis of Ellaville, Mrs. H. E. Dennard of Americus, Mrs. Carolyn Snipes of Dublin, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wayne Lashley of Oglethorpe, Ga. 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Watson Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma was in charge. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Red Hill Primitive
Baptist Church in Oglethorpe for Tressie Athon Lashley, 87, of Route 1,
Oglethorpe, who died Sunday in a local hospital. Elders Dennis Jones
and Fred Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe
Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lashley, the daughter of C.D. Athon and Estella Justice Athon,
was a native of Macon County, where she lived most of her life. She was
a homemaker, a member of Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church and the wife
of the late W.E. Lashley.
Survivors include two sons, Kelma Lashley of Butler and Louie
Lashley of Gray; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Card of Warner Robins and
Mrs. Lucius Eubanks of Albertville, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Ophelia
