ELLAVILLE -- Mrs. Ophelia Athon Ellis, 101, Wilson St., Ellaville, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Elder D Johnson and the Rev. B Partain will officiate. Mrs. Ellis was born Oct. 2, 1901 in Macon County the daughter of Cincy D. and Estella Justice Athon. She was a homemaker and loved gardening. She was a member of Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death in 1971 by her husband, Henry Rufus Ellis and in 2001 by her son, William Marcene Ellis. Survivors include one daughter-in-law,of Ellaville; two grandchildren, of Ellaville; and five great-grandchildren,
