John was born 2 Dec 1921 to John and Rhoda Wilde Dickerson. He was the third child and third son. Soon he was followed with another brother, two sisters, and then four more brothers.
John was an active boy who lived and played to the fullest. He was a friend to his brothers, and patient with his little sisters. He would take time to read to them when his mother needed them watched.
John died at the hospital of a ruptured appendix at age 9. It was a sad day for the whole family. His mother never got over losing him. He was missed, and left a huge void in the house. His little sisters looked for him everytime they went outside, expecting him to be there.
