A very sad funeral was held Sunday. Mrs. Emma Barker, wife of William Barker was taken sick Thursday morning and died Friday night. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 o'clock from the Free Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Dowd, assisted by Rev. Mr. Martin. Deceased was thirty-six years of age and leaves a husband and nine children, the oldest being eighteen years and the youngest eighteen months; also two brothers and two sisters, William Hart of Centerville, Walter Gould of Carbon, Mrs. Agnes Feese of Gravity, who were present and Mrs. Mertie Turner of Shenandoah, who could not come on account of sickness. Mr. Hart buried his wife on Saturday and started immediately to attend his sister's funeral. Mrs. Hart was formerly Miss Dollie Howes of this place and leaves four children.
