Delia Alduth was born to Thomas Theophalus and Martha Elizabeth Casey Shelton. Delia had many siblings and some of them were Daisy, Jessie, Steven, Salita, Herman, William, Mary, Arles, Elmer, Hester, Johnny, Lillie, Golden, and Delbert.

In 1896, Delia married John William Pippin. Together they had six children and they were Louis, Gilbert, Vinnie, David, Anna and Eunice Sebena.
