Ruth Violet Price Hirschi, 96, of Centerville, Utah, passed away peacefully at The West Point Family Tree Assisted Living Center on June 22, 2010 of natural causes.

Ruth was born April 22, 1914 in Geneva, Idaho to Albert Thomas Price and Freida Bertha Boehme.

In the summer of 1931, she met the love of her life, Harry Michael Hirschi. They were married on March 23, 1932 in the Logan, Utah Temple. They made their home in Pocatello, Idaho for all but two years of their married life.

Ruth was an active member of the LDS Church; she served as a ward Relief Society President twice, Stake Relief Society President, and was a temple worker at the Ogden, Utah Temple and a visiting teacher throughout her adult life.

She loved reading and book clubs, gardening, genealogy, and attending special events of her family. She made beautiful handwork, quilts, and clothing and was a wonderful homemaker. Ruth's life was filled with service and compassion. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was the chairman of the local American Cancer Society drive, a cause that she was passionate about after losing her oldest daughter to cancer.

She had a clever wit and smile for all those with whom she came in contact. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10)."

She is survived by a son, Michael J. Hirschi (Nancy) Roy, Utah, a daughter, Maxine R. Jones (Dr. Richard), Fresno, California, A sister, June Buhler, Lima, Montana, a sister, Evelyn Hoag, Bountiful, Utah, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Hirschi, a daughter Nanette J. Green (Jack), her parents, Albert T. and Freida B. Price, seven brothers, and one sister.
