June Elaine Price Buhler was born on July 19, 1919 and passed away on June 5th ,2023. June was the tenth child born to Albert Thomas Price and Freida Bertha Boehme on a warm summer day at their farm home in Geneva, Idaho. She started school in Geneva at the age of six and graduated from the eighth grade at the age of thirteen and then she attended one year of High School at Riverton, Utah, staying with her sister Jane and family. When she was seventeen she left home and went to Montpelier, Idaho, where she had a job babysitting and keeping house and stayed with her sister Ruth and her family. While in Montpelier she met her husband, Weldon Buhler, and they were married October 11, 1938 at the temple in Logan, Utah. They spent their first summer in the mountains herding sheep and the second summer they were able to rent a farm near Bennington, Idaho. Their first child, Arlene was born April 4, 1940 at Montpelier, Idaho at her sister Ruth's home. They purchased a home in Bern, Idaho and moved there in the fall of 1940 and their son, Rulon, was born one night at home in February in a typical old Bear Lake blizzard. In the spring they bought a herd of sheep and when Rulon was fifteen months old they went to the mountains to take care of them. On Thanksgiving Day of 1944 they moved to the Bitterroot Valley of Montana where their third child, Sherry, was born December 3, 1945. She missed Grandmother Price's birthday by one day who was with us at the time. From 1944 until 1970 they lived in the Bitterroot on a hay and cattle ranch and while there had two more children, Russell Gene, was born May 1, 1949, and Billie Dean was born June 27, 1953. They were one of the first Mormon families to help get the church started in Darby, Montana and Russell was the first baby blessed at Darby. They attended church in an old club house, but after a few years they were able to purchase a building site above town, and there is a beautiful church standing there today. She worked in the church in various positions as Primary President, then taught Sunday school and later was Relief Society President. She was a visiting teacher most of her life and also worked in various positions in the Relief Society in Lima, Montana. They moved to the ranch near Lima in August 1970 where they raised hay, cattle and sheep and later just hay and cattle. She had many hobbies and enjoyed quilting, rug making, sewing, crocheting, writing poetry and reading along with working in her yard and flower beds or out in the fields raking hay and harrowing the meadows in springtime She appreciated her good husband, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved the gospel and the happiness it brought to her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Weldon, and daughter, Arlene. She is survived by sons Rulon (Pat) and Russell (Sandra), daughters Sherry (Russell) and Billie (Dave), 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by family and friends. Memorials may be made to Lima Swimming Pool and Lima Fire Department/ EMS.
