Evelyn died at age ninety-three on May 29, 2015 at her home in West Bountiful.

Born February 26, 1922 in Geneva, Idaho, Evelyn was the daughter of Welsh-born Albert Thomas Price and Freida Bertha Boehme Price, born in Soernewitz, Germany.

Known as "Evie" to her family, she was the youngest of eleven children. Evie enjoyed growing up on the homestead in Geneva, and was very proud of her family and her heritage.

Evie married serviceman Charles Rex Hoag on August 15, 1943 in Pocatello, Idaho. Evie and Rex were married again later in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 19, 1966. The couple had three children, and moved many times for Rex's work. They lived in Idaho, Montana, Texas, New Mexico, and Utah.

Evelyn was a woman of many talents; and was extremely skilled at sewing, cooking, gardening, crochet, embroidery, knitting, ceramics, and making dolls. If you knew Evelyn, chances are you owned one of her handmade treasures.

She had a special love for birds and flowers. In her younger years, she greatly enjoyed fishing; and she was an avid reader and watcher of old movies (she particularly enjoyed old TV westerns like Bonanza.).

Evelyn was known for her kind and generous nature, and was always an example of a genuine "attitude of gratitude." She was gentle, humble, patient, hardworking, and compassionate. She had a strong testimony of the gospel, and truly lived the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband (November 9, 1981), parents, seven brothers, and two sisters. She leaves behind her sister, June Buhler, of Montana; children, Charlet (Larry) Bangerter, Gary (Sheila) Hoag, and Cindy Hoag; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the West Bountiful Third Ward Chapel, 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful. Friends and family may visit before the service begins between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. They may also pay their respects at a viewing at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
