Ora S. Bailey, Sr., 72, former advertising manager of the Davidson Furniture Co. store Waterloo, died Saturday at home in Downey, Cal., according to word received here.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Long Beach, Cal.
Surviving are one son, Ora, Jr., Downey; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Halbmaier, Downey and Mrs. Dorothy Thorson, Fort Worth, Tex., and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, last Nov. 30.

Bailey (Downey) - Ora S. Bailey, 71, of 8362 E. Imperial Hwy., died Feb. 28 in Los Angeles. He was born in Britt, Iowa, and had resided here three years. Surviving are a son, Ora S. Bailey Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Carol Halbmaier and Mrs. Dorothy Thorson. He was editor and publisher of papers in Waukon, Waterloo and Britt, Iowa, previously to his retirement in 1949. Service will be today at 1 p.m. in Thomas L. Miller Co. Chapel, Rev. W. G. Muhleman officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Memorial Park, Long Beach.

He married Sylvia Dakota Sage 11 May 1905 in Garner, Hancock, Iowa.
