Gladys was a housewife; she married Will Fillenwarth and they moved to a farm in North Dakota, which failed in the Depression. They returned to Britt, and her husband became a builder and contractor. He built the Dr. Francis Heacox house, as well as sidewalks and also hauled coal.

Mrs. W. Fillenwarth
Britt - funeral services for Mrs. William (Gladys) Fillenwarth, 93, will be at 1:30 PM Thursday at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp will officiate. Brial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Grupe Funeral Home of Britt in charge.
Mrs. Fillenwarth died Monday at a Britt nursing home after a long illness. The daughter of Edwin and Martha Stratton Bailey, she was born April 3, 1878, at Crystal Lake, Wis. She was married to William Fillenwarth at Britt, March 29, 1899, and has lived here most of her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Fern) Reibsamen, Britt; Mrs. Paul (Daisy) Higdon, Granger, Ind.; a son, Dale, Donawanta, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Heacox, Britt; Miss Alice Bailey, St. Paul; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
