Obituary:

Jason George Hanks of Everett Rt. 2 died August 23, 1957, in Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He was born May 1, 1893, in Emmaville, Fulton county, a son of the late Benson and Mary (Schooley) Hanks. On September 12, 1913, he married the former Phoebe Whitfield, who survives with these children: Benson G. of Hopewell Rt. 1, Mrs. Joseph McMillin of McClure Rt. 1, Eli J. of Everett Rt. 2, Agnes McKnight of Everett Rt. 2, Roy W. of Hopewell Rt. 1, Junior E. of Six Mile Run and Billy I., of Lima, O., Mrs. Fred Stuckey of Baltimore, and Mrs. Ray Hockenberry of Altoona. Three children preceded him in death.

Fifteen grandchildren and these brothers and sisters survive: Gustie of Breezewood, Harry of Amaranth, Mrs. Maye Butler of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Rachel Miller of McConnellsburg.

He was a member of McKendree Methodist Church, and had been an employee of the Huntingdon & Broad Top Railroad until its abandonment.

Funeral services Monday, 2 p.m. at Bethel Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Coy Foor and Rev. Simon Koontz officiating, with interment in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stewart Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
