Lewis David "Lew" Barbarick was born near Third Creek,MO. He was the 2nd of 7 children born to Joseph Henry Barbarick and Elizabeth "Manerva" Jane Shockley. He married Melvina Susan Catherine Caroline "Kate" McKinney ( daughter of Thomas McKinney & his 2nd wife, Elizabeth Scott) 8-28-1873 in Gasconade County,MO. They moved to Osage County, near St. Aubert. They had 9 children; James Barbarick, Arinda Lida "Lide" Barbarick Wilson, Joseph Barbarick, Ethel Barbarick, Elsie Mae Barbarick Quick, Robert Barbarick, Eva Augusta Barbarick Branson, Ora "Myrtle" Barbarick Talbott and Hubbard Oquin "Hub" Barbarick. Ethel & Robert both died in childhood. Kate died in 1899. Lew then moved to Brookline,MO and married Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Branson) Boyd. He lived there until his death.
