July 21, 1939
Charles H. Wynekoop of 2716 fifth ave., a retired employee of the South Altoona foundry, died at 5:40 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Altoona Hospital where he was admitted yesterday morning after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona on Nov 24, 1875, a son of William and Sarah (Rickle) Wynekoop, and has been employed in the South Altoona foundry for thirty-three years at the time of his retirement on May 14, 1938.
Surviving are his widow Mrs. Catherine Wynekoop, two daughters and one son, Mrs. H.S. Knotts of the city, Miss Thelma Ruth and Richard Wynkeoop at home; one grandson, one brother and two sisters, Walter Wynekoop of Connellsville, Mrs. Homer Zeigler of the city and Mrs. Edward Barrett of Norristown.
Mr. Wynekoop was a member of the St. James Lutheran church. Friends are being received at the Gilden Funeral home.
